Orange Crushers do the Harlem Shake

So this past Saturday was picture day for all 4 Orange Crusher teams.  Elena & I had been talking for a while about how funny it would be if we decided to do an Orange Crushers version of the Harlem Shake.  So with all 4 teams there together at one time, we decided to pull out the video camera and see what we could do.  Take a look at our project and let us know what you think.  We had a lot of fun putting it together – the kids were all great!!

Another Soccer Game

Tonight I had the chance to go see another one of Elena’s games after she and I played in another game across town.  Emily was playing tonight too and it was a great game!!  Elena and Emily both got elbowed by some huge guy (who ended up getting thrown out of the game), Emily got kicked in the face, and they won!!  It was awesome!  I only got a little video tonight, but my sister is always ready to perform for the camera!  LOL!  Below shows a few seconds of the game where Elena had a free kick – she kicks the ball and as you’ll see, the girl on the other team gets hit and falls to the ground.  I’m telling you, when Elena has a free kick, it’s best to just get out of the way!

Elena playing Soccer

This last week I went with my sister to a soccer game she was playing in.  She started the game out strong, scoring 2 goals right away.  I tried to get into a good spot so I could take some video of her scoring, but instead I caught this girl tripping her.  And then the resulting penalty kick which shows why tripping my sister is really a bad idea.  LOL!!  Right after this shot, Elena scored her 3rd goal and went to defense for the rest of the game since each player can only score 3 goals in a game. And yes, Elena’s team went on to win!

Last Games of the 2012 Fall Season!

Today are the last games of the season – I can’t believe it has gone by so fast!!  I always look forward to this day – it’s a lot of fun to have the end of season parties with each of the teams and I enjoy looking back at all the pictures that have been taken throughout the season.  Being out on the field with the kids is a blast and I’m very thankful to my sister for letting me be a part of it.  This season was a lot of fun having Chris out there with us too!

I hope all the Crushers had a great time playing this year – everybody did an awesome job!!  Go Crushers!!

We started the 2012 Fall Soccer Season today and we had a great time!!  The 5-6 year old team started us out strong and won their game 2-0!!  Great game Crushers!!  The 7-9 year old team had a little bit tougher time since the other team scored a little bit more than us, but they played strong and played well together.  Especially the second half – as we continue on, I think this team is going to be very strong!!  The 10-12 year old team played great also – we lost the game 2-1, but they played great together.  The 13-14 year old team was also great – we played a really tough team and we were able to hold them to a 0-0 tie.  They played strong and looked great out there!!  It’s going to be a great season!!  Go Crushers!!

End of the Soccer Season

Well, today marks the last day of the Orange Crushers Soccer Season.  This is always a day full of mixed feelings.  It feels great that it’s over because it opens a lot of time on my schedule, but it’s sad because I love being out there with the kids!!  We had a couple of great parties at Elena’s house and had a great turnout of kids with their families.  The games today went really well – one of the 5-6 year old teams tied their game, and the other 3 teams all won their games.  Great end to a great season!!  Thanks to all the kids for making soccer so much fun, and thanks to Elena for letting me be a part of the teams!!!  Go Crushers!!!
